Remind yourself: you live out of a suitcase. Your job takes you a lot of places, but it has it's downsides. You sleep alone. Eat alone. You go where you're told, do what you're told.
Remember the rules:
ONE. DON'T ASK QUESTIONS.
There is no such thing as right or wrong.
TWO. DON'T TAKE AN INTEREST IN PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF WORK.
There is no such thing as trust.
THREE. ERASE EVERY TRACE.
Come anonymous and leave nothing behind.
FOUR. KNOW WHEN TO GET OUT.
Just thinking about it means its time.
Don't lose your edge, and be careful not to become a target. Take risks, but nothing too risky. Get the money, and disappear. That's it.
This is your last job. You'll recieve $30 million. He's a good man, but none of that matters. Follow the rules, and you'll be fine.
[[Finish It]] You can make one of two decisions. You could do the pickups yourself, and risk becoming a target, or you could recruit someone to do them for you, and risk a mole. Your decision, choose wisely.
[[I'll Do It Myself]]
[[Find A Recruit]] So you've chosen to do it yourself. Brave. Take the trip to the club and pick up the case. No cops, talk to nobody. You're late.
[[Follow The Rules]]
[[You're Late?! Speed There.]]Trust No One.
You'll need someone disposeable. Remember what that means. Study the people around you. You're looking for someone as invisible as you. Quick. You don't want to become a familiar face.
There is a man, no older than 25. He's leaning on his skooter, shouting at the tourists. He's offering drugs and women, but drunk as they are, they're not taking the bait. In a defeated throw of the arm, he brushes the rejection off, and apologetically pulls one of the men in for a hug, assuring them that it's cool. During the hug, you catch him slip the man's wallet from his pocket and tuck it in his jacket. He pats the man on his back and sends the group on their way. CHOICE ONE.
Out of the corner of your eye, you catch a woman grabbing at purses and pockets. She looks homeless, and is being pushed away by passers. She yells when a young man only offers a few coins. The cashier from the store she's loitering at storms out and the two argue. At one point, the woman turns her back to you, and you can't tell what they're saying. Their conversation seems calmer. CHOICE TWO.
Choose Wisely.
[[Choice One]]
[[Choice Two]] You take your time, and even though you're later than you've ever been, you make it to the club. Inside, you're looking for a woman with a snake tattoo on her arm.
There are two women you find with snake tattoos on their arms. Just your luck. One is sitting at a table by herself, watching the show. Another is a waitress, moving quickly around the large room. Approaching the wrong person could prove to be dangerous for you.
[[Woman @ Table]]
[[Waitress]]
You hop on your bike and weave your way through traffic. Lights flash behind you, and you're armed. Stupid. You grab the man and shove him into the porta nearby. He's scared, yellling and you tell him to shutup assure him that you won't hurt him. You quickly offer the job, he's still scared, but he agrees. You give the information for the pickup, then tell him to be at your apartment in two hour.
[[Head Home]]As you approach this woman, you notice the large tatoo of a snake that covers her left arm. This raises alarm, but you brush it off. Wrong time, wrong place.
She yells at you for looking at her, and you pull out your wallet and hand her a twenty. She quiets, looking at you suspiciously.
You beckon her nearer to the alley, and offer her the job. She sniffs, and pulls a gun from her side. "Easier than I thought, boys," she says into the collar of her jacket.
Looks like you found the mole. You approach the woman at the table, she gives you no notice. You sit down, but she only looks your way, saying nothing. You tap the table three times, then lay it flat; the code to tell her who you are.
Under the table, you feel something cold and hard press on your knee. You've made a mistake.
"We've been searching for you, Wayne. You're a very expensive man."The waitress has gone back to the bar, waiting to be beckoned, and you take this opportunity to approach her. She notices as you tap the bar three times, and rest your hand there, hoping she's the right woman.
She is. She takes your arm, and leads you into the back. She's mad that you're late, but she shoves the case into your arms, grumbling "Yin is wrong for this one."
[[Ask Her Why]]
[[Ignore Her and Leave]]
Grabbing her arm, you ask her why.
"Of course they're already looking for you. There's a mole sitting at the corner table, I thought you might approach her...Of course I didn't answer your question. That's not part of your job. Losing your edge?...No, I get it. He's important to the people around here. We're finally getting treated right, paid like we should. If it weren't for him..I dunno, but you need to leave. The back is unlocked if you like."
[[Leave From The Back]]
[[Go The Way You Came]] You turn around, and leave her there. Don't ask questions, it doesn't matter who this guy is. You need to go back to your apartment and plan the job.
[[Go To Your Apartment]]You make your way further into the back, and find the back exit door. It's started to rain, so you pull the case closer to your side. The door is heavy, you hold it as it closes, so it doesn't slam. Thunder claps, something is thrown over your head, and you're pulled backward. You leave from the front, avoiding the risk you might be taking by leaving from the back. You stumble to find your keys, thrown off and shaken from her answer. You set the case in the passenger seat, and as you start the vehicle, something in the back seat shifts, and you feel cold metal on your neck. In the case, you find that the plan is to be executed the next day while he's at a charity organization. It tells you where to be, when to be there, and how they want it done. Involuntarily, you begin to wonder why the waitress had gotten so upset.
That doesn't matter.
You can set up tonight, so you don't look suspicious in the morning, you you could set up in the morning, and don't look suspicious at night.
[[Set Up In The Morning]]
[[Set Up Tonight]]At your apartment, you prepare for your recruit.
He arrives a minute late, and you inform him that he doesn't get paid if he's late. You give him a burner, and tell him that he answers every time it rings, or he doesn't get paid.
You both agree that he'll be paid 6K for each job he does. He looks at you greedily.
You give him the instructions for the weapon pickup in the morning. You'll transfer on the six, where you'll receive the case and you'll give him his first pay.
[[Send Him Off]]In the morning, the both of you meet. However, he looks terrified, and is reluctant to give you the case. You realize he's looked.
"I know what you're doing, he doesn't deserve that man...None of my business? I'm doing the job!...Another stupid rule? The people love him man...you didn't even tell me your name!"
By now, you're seething with anger. You push him into the wall and press your arm into his throat.
"I'm sorry man. I won't do it again, just pay me and I won't do it again!"
You arent sure if you can trust that he won't say anything, and you have to make a decision.
[[Clean Up Your Mess]]
[[Let Him Go]]You pay him, apologize, and offer a meal to make up for it. Shakily, he agrees. The two of you head to the nearby waffle house, and you lock the case in your car.
Shoveling eggs into his mouth, he tells you about the man in the picture.
He gets up to go to the bathroom, you put it in his drink.
He comes back, gulps down his drink, and smiles at you. He assumes you've decided to drop the job. You're not that stupid.
You stand up, and begin to leave. He questions you, but you tell him you have things to take care of. You give him money to pay the bill, and although he's still talking, you walk away.
You know what will happen to him in the next twenty minutes. You're sure they'll find it as spontaneous cardiac arrest. You're aware that they'll never know what you did.
He left the burner with his skooter, and you take that too.
[[Prepare]]You reach in his pocket and take the burner, but you give him everything in your wallet to keep him quiet. You assure him that if he tells anybody, he'll be taken care of. You stab his tire, and [[Leave]]At your apartment, you figure that you could either set up in the morning, or set up tonight. Each are equally risky.
[[Set Up In The Morning]]
[[Set Up Tonight]] You're held up in traffic, so you assemble the sniper while you wait. You don't consider that you might be stopped.
You throw the burner out the window about a mile from your house.
You pull in the driveway, grab the sniper and get out of the vehicle. However, you're being quick and you bang the scope on the door of the car, knocking it off, and rolling under the vehicle.
You set the sniper in your seat, and get down to retreive the scope. Thats when you hear the gravel shift behind you.
You rise quickly, and attempt to grab whoever is behind you, but you're too late.
Your side is on fire, and as you hit the ground, you see the snake tattoo. Before dawn, you haul your supplies to the lookout. You didn't realize how many people would still be asleep right now, so you're quiet as you climb the fire escape into the unoccupied apartment. From here, you'll have a clear shot, but you're still pretty far away.
You head back out to the car to retrieve your watch, which you'd forgotten.
On your way back up, you catch a man staring at you. When he catches you staring, he turns and walks away. You keep watching as he makes a phone call.
You can't see him any longer. He'd walked away, didn't look back. You continue making your way to the apartment.
Climbing in the window, you find a woman waiting for you. You know her, and that tattoo. To avoid being seen in the morning, you head out to set up tonight.
You climb the fire escape of the building to the unoccupied apartment. Inside, the furniture is covered in plastic and OPEN HOUSE signs sit by the door.
You put the piece together, add a silencer, and stash it in the closet. The closet is big enough for you too, so you sleep in there.
[[The Next Morning]]You wake suddenly.
It's 11:43 am.
You have two minutes.
You collect yourself, and quickly set up in the window. However, you realize there's nothing hiding you. This place will be crawling with officers.
You could open the window all the way, ensuring the shot or your could prop the window just a little bit, covering yourself with the blinds.
[[All The Way]]
[[The Hard But Safe Way]]Quickly, you throw the window open with one arm, almost dropping your weapon. The window makes a loud scraping sound, and the outside crashes onto the ground below. You catch your weapon on your leg, and looking down, you find the red glowing spot on your chest. You keep the blinds down, and crack the window open just enough for the barrel and scope to fit.
Looking through the scope, you find your target, surrounded by
children.
Because you hesitated, you're now late. You should've made the shot already, but will you still take it?
[[Take The Shot]]
[[Back Out]]You squeeze the trigger, hear the screams, and leave.
[[MISSION COMPLETE]]You can't take the shot.
You turn around, and leave. Out the window, and down the fire escape, weapon in hand.
You see nobody, and reaching for your keys they pull into the alleyway.
